Tourist Coaches was founded in 1920 and operates from Salisbury, Fovant and Pewsey.
Founded by E & DF Stanfield in 1920 Tourist coaches operated private hire and contracted services from their depot in Figheldean. Being based near Salisbury Plain much of the coach work included transporting military personnel.
In the 1990's Tourist Coaches was purchased by Wilts & Dorset, shortly after this Wilts and Dorset also brought Bells, Levers and Kingston Coaches and formed the Tourist Group. This is where we developed our notorious, eye catching blue livery which has continuously evolved over the years, complementing our fleet of modern coaches.
In August 2003 Tourist was included in the sale with Wilts & Dorset to the Go Ahead Group, and forms part of the regional Go South Coast group of companies which also includes Salisbury Reds, more bus, Damory, Bluestar, and now Excelsior Coaches.
Tourist coaches are now mainly operated from the Salisbury Reds Garage in Castle Street Salisbury, with remote depots still remaining at Fovant and Pewsey.
